Pool Team Tournament @ GF Billiards & Home of Pool
  • 16 teams
  • Each team consist of 5 to 6 players
  • Top 5 Men's National 8-Ball & 9-Ball Ranking Players are excluded.
  • Each team is allowed to have only 1 player ranked from 6th to 20th
  • Ladies will be handicapped by 1 rack
  • Top 10 Women's National 8-Ball & 9-ball Ranking Players will not be handicapped
  • Entry fee = $100 + $40 (Refundable Deposit)

Registration and Payment

Registration start from 5th March 2008.

All teams can register either at GF Billiards or Home of Pool counter.
All teams need to have a Team Name, Team Captain and Vice Captain.
During registration, we need all the team player's names and contact numbers.
Closing date with payment for registration is 23rd March 2008

Tournament Days & Timing

Tournament will be hosted on every Mondays & Thursdays.
Reporting Time is 7pm
Each team needs to pay $4.00 per match as an administration fee for the organizer.
Captain / Vice Captain will line up the players to each Player match.
Matches will be commence at 7.30pm sharp.
Each Pool Hall will be hosting 1 or 2 match(es)in each Tournament Day.


Tournament Format

Round Robin Format.
2 Groups of 7 teams each.

Each team need to play 6 matches in each Pool Hall (Total 12 matches) during the Round Robin Group Stage.

Each Team match will consist as follow

(1) 1st Single 9-Ball (Race to 7)
(2) Scotch Double 8-Ball (Race to 4)
(3) 2nd Single 9-Ball (Race to 7)
(4) 1st Single 8-Ball (Race to 4)
(5) Scotch Double 9-Ball (Race to 7)
(6) 2nd Single 8-Ball (Race to 4)

Player matches 1 to 3 will be play at the same time.
Player matches 4 to 6 will be play at the same time.

Each player is allowed to play maximum of 2 matches per tournament day.

All matches are Alternate Break.
Losing players pays for the table for that match.

Team who do not turn up on their match day will consider lost their match as 6 to 0 and $20 will be deducted from the deposit.

All deposits will be refunded to the teams at the end of the Round Robin Stage.

Team who won the Team match will be awarded 2 points
Team match who ended in Draw (3:3), both teams will be awarded 1 point each.
No point will be awarded for losing team.

Top 4 teams with the highest points in each Group after the Round Robin Stage will go through to the Quarter-Final Knock-Out Stage.

Notes for Round Robin Format.

If there is a draw in the Points, the Difference of Player Win & Player Lost will be the next factor to decide the qualifying team.
If the Player Result Difference is still drawn, the Most Player Win will be the next factor.
If the Most Player Win is still drawn, Head-To- Head between the 2 teams in concern will be the next factor.
If the Head-To-Head between the teams was a draw, the Total Racks Difference (Total Rack Scored- Total Racks Conceded) will be the final factors.

Quarter-Final Knock-Out Stage

2 Group Winners and 2 Group Runner-Ups will be seeded.
They will only pair with 3rd/4th placing teams from the other Groups.

All Knock-Out Stage matches will be 2 matches.
1 match to be played at each Pool Hall.
The results of both matches will decide the team to proceed to the next stage.

Notes for Knock-Out Stage.

If the 2 matches ended in a draw (6:6), the Total Racks Difference (Total Racks Scored- Total Racks Conceded) will be the factor to decide the qualifying team.
If the Total Racks Difference is still a drawn, the Most Racks Scored will be the next factor.
If the Most Total Racks Scored is still a drawn, the Least Total Racks Conceded will be the next factor.

Prize Money**

$1400 of the total registration fee will be the prize money.
GF Billiards & Home of Pool will top up $200 each to the Prize Money.
I will contribute $200 out of my fees collected to the Prize Money.

Total Prize Money of $2000.00

Champion Team: $1000.00 + Trophy
1st Runner-Up Team: $600.00 + Trophy
2nd Runner-Up Team: $300.00 + Trophy
3rd Runner-Up Team: $100.00


**Based on 14 teams tournament

After the Draw, I will schedule all the Group matches and it will be updated in this thread.

To make easy payment for all teams, all Entry fee of $100 + $40 (Refundable Deposit) will need to be pay on their respective 1st Team Match Day.
