9-BALL POOL TOURNAMENT

  • 16 players (Final Round)
  • Top 10 Men’s National 8-Ball & 9-Ball Ranking Players are excluded
  • Top 8 Women’s National 8-Ball & 9-Ball Ranking Players will not be handicapped
  • Ladies will be handicapped by 1 Rack
  • Entry Fee = $12 + $3 Organizer's fee
  • Registration with payment at GF Billiards or West Coast Billiards
    Saloon counter


Tournament Days & Timing

4 Qualifying Rounds of 16-Players each
6th May & 13th May (West Coast Billiards Saloon)
7th May & 14th May (GF Billiards)
Reporting Time 7pm
Matches will commence at 7.30pm sharp
Final Round will be on 19th May(Vesak Day-Monday)10.30am at GF Billiards

Qualifying Rounds

4 Groups of 4 Players each (2 Tables per Group)
Each player will play 3 matches during the Round Robin Group Stage
All matches are Race to 5 with Alternate Break

Player who won the match will be awarded 2 points
No point will be awarded for losing player
Losing players pays for the table for that match

Top 3 players with the highest points in each Group will go through to the Pre-Final Stage
Last players in each Group will be eliminated


Pre-Final Stage

Round Robin Format
3 Groups of 4 players each (2 Tables per Group)

Group X
  1. Group “A” 1st placing
  2. Group “B” 2nd placing
  3. Group “C” 2nd placing
  4. Group “D” 3rd placing

Group Y
  1. Group “A” 2nd placing
  2. Group “B” 1st placing
  3. Group “C” 3rd placing
  4. Group “D” 2nd placing


Group Z
  1. Group “A” 3rd placing
  2. Group “B” 3rd placing
  3. Group “C” 1st placing
  4. Group “D” 1st placing

Each player will play 3 matches during the Pre-Final Stage
All matches are Race to 5 with Alternate Break

Player who won the match will be awarded 2 points
No point will be awarded for losing player
Losing players pays for the table for that match

3 Group Winners with the highest points and 1 Best Runner-Up will be qualified for the Final Round

Non-qualified players can register the next Qualifying Round
Each Qualifying Round, 4 players will advance to the Final Round

Final Round

16 players have advanced to the Final Round
4 Groups of 4 players each (2 Tables per Group)
All matches are Race to 5 with Alternate Break

Player who won the match will be awarded 2 points
No point will be awarded for losing player
Losing players pays for the table for that match

Top 3 players with the highest points in each Group will go through to the Winners Stage
Last players in each Group will be eliminated


Winners Stage

Round Robin Format

Group X
  1. Group “A” 1st placing
  2. Group “B” 2nd placing
  3. Group “C” 2nd placing
  4. Group “D” 3rd placing

Group Y
  1. Group “A” 2nd placing
  2. Group “B” 1st placing
  3. Group “C” 3rd placing
  4. Group “D” 2nd placing


Group Z
  1. Group “A” 3rd placing
  2. Group “B” 3rd placing
  3. Group “C” 1st placing
  4. Group “D” 1st placing

Each player will play 3 matches during the Winner Stage
All matches are Race to 5 with Alternate Break

Player who won the match will be awarded 2 points
No point will be awarded for losing player
Losing players pays for the table for that match


3 Group Winners, 3 Group Runner-Ups and 2 Best 3rd Group Placing with the highest points will be qualified for the Quarter-Final Knockout Stage

3 Group Winners and 1 best Group Runner-Up will be seeded to the Draw for Quarter-Final Knockout Stage

All Quarter-Final & Semi-Final Knockout Stages will be Race to 6
Final and 3rd -4th Placing will be Race to 7

Prize Money

$768 of the total registration fee will be the prize money(** Based on 64 players registered during the Qualifying Rounds

Champion : $288.00
1st Runner-Up : $160.00
2nd Runner-Up : $ 90.00
3rd Runner-Up : $ 50.00
Quarter-Finalists : $ 30.00 (4 players)
Winner Stage : $ 15.00 (4 players)


**In the event if there are less than 64 players registered for the tournament, the Prize Money will be reduced accordingly

Notes for Round Robin Format

(1) If there is a draw in the Points, the Difference of Racks Won – Racks Conceded will be the next factor to decide the qualifying player

(2) If the Racks Difference is still drawn, the Most Racks Won will be the next factor

(3) If the Most Racks Won is still drawn, the Most Racks Conceded will be the next factor

(4) If the Most Racks Conceded is still drawn, Head-To- Head between the 2 players in concern will be the next factor
